Dear Church Family and Friends of Southtown,
One of the 'benefits' in my role is that I get to hear and read some of the good stuff that is happening through the ministry of Southtown. Sometimes I try to share the stories of changed lives and lives touched by you. At times these testimonies are either too personal or it is not yet the time to make public a testimony so I have to keep the good news private.
Then there are the occasions when our church is recognized in one way or another by the association, state convention, city, local press, or organizations. These 'good news' moments I try to pass on to you but I'm not sure I get the word out always successfully.
Last week, for instance, I received a letter from the president of the North American Mission Board. He was writing to express his appreciation and to note how Southtown was the top ranked church in the association for our giving to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
He wrote, 'Your church stands as a role model for others for investing in North American missions and in the lives of missionaries and those they are reaching with the gospel.'
Even though we are not the largest church in the association, we continue a strong emphasis in missions giving, going, and praying that is exemplary.

This Sunday we will be recognizing all the mothers in each service. I will also be sharing a special message with mothers in mind.

As a part of our youth raising funds for their summer mission trip, they sell flowers and plants that are delivered Mother's Day weekend.
If you ordered something, you can pick it up this Saturday at 2:30 or on Sunday morning.

The Trustees would like to hire someone part-time to help primarily with the mowing during the summer. The job would require a minimum of 10 hours a week. The applicant must be at least 18 years old. Please contact the church office if you or someone you know would be interested.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday for another time of worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry, and fellowship.
