Dear Church Family and Friends of Southtown,

It was three years ago this month that we broke ground on our new ministry facility. It was two years ago that we had our first worship service (with over 300 people!) in our new space.

Doesn't seem that long ago does it? There is still a scent of newness when you walk into the sanctuary.

What a blessing our expanded facilities have been to many people, groups, churches, as well as to us. We have space to do so much more now than before. Space to worship, to fellowship, to minister.

This month also marks the end of our ReNEWed Capital Campaign. Thanks to the many of you who have contributed thousands and thousands of dollars to help pay for our new space.

As you know, the mortgage now has been absorbed in our regular budget. However, you can still give to the capital campaign and your gifts will go toward paying the mortgage.

Christmas Musical

It's that time of year again when our adult and children's choirs present the annual Christmas musical. It definitely is one of the highlights of the year for us at Southtown.

There will be two presentations: Saturday, December 4, at 7 pm and Sunday, December 5, at 11 am.

We always have tons of guests and people come primarily because they are invited by you. I hope this year again you will invite neighbors, friends, family, work associates to come. This year's musical could be the best ever.

Here is a link you can click on which will take you to an electronic invitation you can send to anyone with an email address.

I hope you will be at one of the presentations and will invite others to join you.

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope to see you this Sunday as we think about "Salt and Light."

Diane Goodwin
Today's spotlight is on Diane Goodwin. She is one of our newer members and has become very active in several groups. She is a part of the Sunday morning Ladies' Bible study, the Monday morning Ladies' Bible study, and the Wednesday evening small group, "The DNA of Relationships."

Diane was born in Knoxville. She attended the University of Tennessee and majored in piano. She moved to Michigan for a time and it was here that she became a Christian and was baptized. The book, Pilgrim's Progress, made a significant impact on her life.

Diane has served overseas in Mali as a missionary and has lived in Minnesota for 20 years. She has two sons and two grandchildren. She lives in Bloomington not far from the church.

She shares, "I want to serve the Lord with all my heart, mind, and soul." We are excited to have Diane as a part of our family of faith. Get to know her and let her know you.
